AFG's Core Services

Background

Aldukheil Financial Group (AFG) is a closed joint stock company, established in 2007 on the basis of Capital Market Authority (CMA) License permitting AFG to conduct the full range of securities business services in Saudi Arabia including: arranging, advising, asset management, custody and underwriting.

AFG was established with majority shareholding by Dr Abdulaziz Mohammed Aldukheil, the former Deputy Minister of Finance & Commerce in Saudi Arabia, to continue operating in the Investment Banking and Financial Advisory Services Industry.

Prior to the establishment of AFG, the Company had been operating in the Financial Advisory Business since 1979 under “The Consulting Center for Finance & Investment,” (CCFI) which was fully owned by Dr Aldukheil. AFG was established to comply with the new CMA Securities Business Regulation allowing it to expand into Asset Management and Underwriting Services previously restricted to Commercial Banks in the Kingdom.

The establishment of the CMA in 2004 by a Royal Decree, and its issuance of the new Securities Business License, allowed licensed investment companies to expand their advisory services into the previously restricted Asset Management industry. This marked a significant regulatory shift that has changed the Financial Industry’s landscape in the Kingdom. Prior to the CMA, all Capital Market Activities where regulated through the Ministry of Commence.
